Karen qualified as a solicitor in 2009 and has extensive experience in general practice and in particular in property and commercial law. She is a partner and founded Walsh and Partners LLP in 2016 where she currently practices predominantly in the areas of property, agricultural and commercial law.

Karen acts for private and commercial clients and has acted for many landowners in respect of property, acquisitions and sales of property. Karen has a particular interest in agriculture and has acted for many landowners in respect of complex farm transfers sales, purchases and farm partnerships. Karen acts regularly in respect of acquisition and sales of commercial property and she acts for housing agencies in respect of the sale and acquisition of residential and development property and also in relation to CALF and HFA funding.

Karen has a special interest in renewable energy and has acted for many landowners and developers in respect of commercial agreements for solar and wind farms. She also has a particular interest in succession planning and farm inheritance.

Karen has also acted in numerous transactions for the acquisition and sale of residential property. Karen acts for clients regularly in the area of probate law and in particular in respect of the administration of estates, drafting wills and advises clients in respect of succession and estate planning. Karen is a published author and has written a book on agricultural law and regularly writes a legal column for a national paper and has appeared on radio and television discussing topical legal matters.

Education: University College Cork – BCOMM (Hons) and Diploma in Trust and Estate Planning.

Professional: Admitted as a Solicitor in Ireland.
