DEIRDRE RAFFERTY

Deirdre graduated from University College Cork with an Honours B.C.L. Degree in 2007. She completed a postgraduate LLB Degree in 2011. Deirdre also won the award for Legal Executive of the Year in 2023 at the Irish Law Awards.

Deirdre is an experienced litigator who joined the firm in 2025. She gained extensive expertise in all aspects of litigation in her previous positions with a number of large law firms based in Cork city. Deirdre practices in the areas of Litigation and Private Client Matters. She practices predominantly in relation to Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, High and Circuit Court matters.

She has gained invaluable experience in medical negligence litigation, and has been involved in a diverse range of cases including birth injuries, cancer misdiagnosis, surgical errors, fatal claims and defective medical device claims. Deirdre also has experience with Inquests and the Coroner’s Court. She is adept at reviewing voluminous medical records and can interpret a volume of medical records into a concise summary to assist Counsel in drafting proceedings.

Deirdre places a particular importance on client care and advises clients in relation to all aspects of civil litigation; to include personal injury claims, accidents at work, road traffic accidents, public liability claims, defamation and assault claims.
